Why it Works

A chic grey anchors the room, providing a solid base for a contrasting zesty green adjacent wall, plus a riot of colourful accents, to pop against. Mid tone greys work well against brighter shades, so opt for a shade that sits in the middle of the tonal spectrum and keep your complimentary shades down to just two or three as this room does, to keep your scheme looking tight.
