Trick to Try: Two-Tone Graphic Hallway
Make a real statement in your hallway with a two-tone painted effect.
We often forget to give our hallway the love it deserves when decorating our home. But it can be so much more than just a pass-through. Ready to focus on your hallway? One striking way to make an entrance is by giving your hallway added personality and dimension with a graphic two-tone look (this is also a handy technique to make your ceilings look taller!).
Watch the video above and then read the step-by-step guide below to create your own graphic two-tone hallway.
What you'll need:
- Paint brush
- Masking tape
- String
- Paint roller & tray
- Dulux Endurance+ Paint in Vanilla Sundae, Quickdry Satinwood in Fine Cream
Step 1: First, tape the string and pull it across the wall. Pull your masking tape across the line made by your string.
Step 2: Using the roller brush start painting the top wall section in your first colour.
Step 3: Wait until the paint is dry and then peel and reposition the tape above the painted line.
Step 4: Using your second paint colour, paint the lower section of your wall and allow the paint to fully dry before removing the reapplied tape.
Step 5: Now, if you're fully committing to the two-tone effect, get a framed picture and apply the tape to your picture frame.
Step 6: Paint the lower half of the frame and picture in your lower wall colour and then allow the paint to dry. Once it's dry, peel off the tape and hang it on your two-tone wall!
