Inside A Copper Blush-Inspired London Home
This project by interior design practice 2 Lovely Gays is a Copper Blush success story.
We're pleased to see our Colour of the Year has made it into your homes and decorating projects over the last 9 months. And we're even more thrilled to share this gorgeous project from interior design duo, Jordan and Russell – A.K.A. the 2 Lovely Gays. They've used Copper Blush throughout this London home to magnificent effect. Here, they tell us a bit about the project and their approach to the scheme. Let's take a look around…
'We are big believers in timeless design and we had wanted to use a terracotta tone for a while - Copper Blush is the perfect shade! It's a new neutral for us and is a more masculine tone compared to some blush pinks. It goes with everything!'
'We used varying tones of copper blush, lighter and darker, alongside the main colour in this project to create movement and layers. This adds subtle interest and gives the overall home a coherence and sophistication.'
'Design-wise, we took a lot of inspiration from the brutalist building itself. We wanted to contrast the original concrete ceilings and teak doors yet still have a feeling of glamour. We were hugely inspired by the Warhol painting of Joan Collins and Dynasty with a hint of Mad Men!'
'Our favourite thing about the finished project is the vintage bedroom suite… It was worn-out teal suede and we had it reupholstered in a gorgeous navy-blue velvet! The perfect pairing with Copper Blush.'
Inspired to use Copper Blush in your space? Here's a tip from Russell and Jordan:
'Think of copper blush as a neutral. For us it's a great replacement for the recent obsession with grey. It goes with almost every colour – we are currently working on a project where we are using it with red and burgundy, for example. It looks fab! It's a warm tone so it can also be paired with deep blues and cool greens, too.'
