Gold Colours in Living Rooms
Create glamour with golden tones of almond and honey.
A coat of a new paint colour can truly transform a room, and while the sun shines and we move slowly into autumn there’s a natural inclination to bring gold colours into the home.
This year saw Spiced Honey crowned as the Dulux Colour of the Year, because the colour experts felt it truly reflected the mood of the moment; the wonderfully gold colour is a warm amber tone inspired by the versatility of honey itself.
Honey can be soothing, calming and cosy, and when layered with natural fibres of wood, rattan and cottons, can really enrich a room. Other living room ideas include variants of warm browns like almond, walnut, and even terracotta on the bolder end of the spectrum.
Complimenting these colours with similar tones in lighter shades is a great way to add depth to a room, while also playing with colour. Not all ceilings were created equal, nor should they all look the same. A classic ceiling white is fine, but experiment with warm whites or soft creams to really play on the golden theme.
When it comes to décor, metallics like copper, brass and gold will add a touch of elegance to your space, while quite literally reflecting the golden hour glamour of the room.
