White Furniture & Pale Blue Paint Unite
Blue paired with crisp white creates a cool, elegant interior
Crisp white furniture and a pale blue paint are one of the timeless colour schemes for any home. There is a breezy, seaside charm that this combination brings to any room, alongside the natural, cool and calm of the soft ocean blue.
Blue and white is a timeless duo, and a versatile one too. Décor can be kept simple and classic or be vamped up to bring a little luxury to any space. An additional layer of black to a blue and white colour scheme can bring with it a bit of an edge, and a lot of character. Similarly, a white paint for wood can transform tired furniture into an upcycled seaside escape, while a darker wood tone in the furniture options can bring more depth and warmth to a room.
A nautical solution isn’t is the only one; add in a chintzy pattern to your fabrics and your seaside scheme can easily be transported to more of a country cottage feel – especially with a darker wood and darker ceilings.
In an actual cottage space, try mixing up textures and fabrics to ensure a variety of accents for eyes to be drawn to, and away from lower ceilings and beams. Painting any exposed beams white will create space where there is a little, and give the appearance of a more open room.
