Around 850,000 people in the UK suffer from Dementia with 70-80% of people living with dementia continuing to live in their own homes rather than in any dedicated type of housing.
Colour Palette and Design Guide
With 1 million sufferers of Dementia in the UK predicted by 2025, this is a trend which requires some careful thought. We need to plan ahead in how we develop homes, communities and towns.
Dulux has partnered with the BRE (British Research Establishment) in a project to help those with dementia to live independently for longer in their own homes. We developed a colour palette and design guide that suggests how certain colours and designs can help those living with dementia.
