We launched our “Paint it your way” campaign to celebrate the different ways you can bring your personal style to life in your home – with a single lick of paint. And if you’re into modern classic interiors, you’ll find plenty of Traditionalist with a Twist shades in our Simply Refresh collections – like this gorgeous dining nook. Keep scrolling for the stunning before and after in this space.
This dining area gets a bespoke split wall treatment using one of our favourite one-coat Feature Wall shades, Decadent Damson with a single coat of traditional White Cotton on top. It’s a tried-and-tested Traditionalist with a Twist colour combination: high-contrast pairings that feel both grown-up and totally on-trend.
If your room works double-duty – either as a kitchen and dining room, or a bedroom and a home office – using paint to zone the space with a split or feature wall is a practical decision, but also a beautiful one. We love the way the deep plum of Decadent Damson trails around the corners of the room and encloses the space for a cosy feel while the pale tones of White Cotton keep the rest of the space airy. Best of all, thanks to Simply Refresh’s one-coat formula, you can complete this kind of project in a day.
Nailing a modern classic decorating scheme is all about the mix, playing lighter and darker shades off against each other. The Simply Refresh One Coat range is full of muted, softer neutral shades that will bring a relaxed elegance to your room, while our Feature Wall collection includes deep tones such as charcoal Urban Obsession, navy Ink Well and Rich Black that will anchor the space.
We love using darker, more pigmented shades in alcoves and corners to make those spaces visually recede or to highlight architectural features such as a chimney breast. And they also work brilliantly to create a moment of drama in transitional spaces such as hallways.
